StorieTree Professional Education is committed to transparency, ethical integrity, and freedom from commercial bias in all continuing education activities. Consistent with APA CESA standards and our ethics-infusion model, we have established clear procedures to ensure that participants are fully informed of any potential conflicts of interest related to sponsors, instructors, content of instruction, or other relationships that could reasonably be construed as influencing program content.
All instructors are required to complete a written conflict-of-interest disclosure as part of the presenter agreement process. This disclosure identifies any relevant financial relationships, commercial interests, consulting roles, honoraria, grants, or other affiliations that could present a real or perceived conflict of interest. If no such relationships exist, presenters are required to affirmatively state that they have no relevant conflicts of interest to disclose.
These disclosures are reviewed by the Program Director and Program Administrator prior to program approval to ensure compliance and determine whether any mitigation steps are required.
Participants are informed of conflicts of interest at the beginning of each CE activity through both written and verbal disclosure. This includes:
A disclosure slide included in the presentation materials, and
A verbal statement by the instructor at the start of the program.
When no conflicts of interest or commercial support exist, instructors are required to explicitly state this to participants.
If a CE activity receives commercial support, this support will be clearly disclosed to participants in advance and at the time of the program. Disclosures will include:
The source of commercial support,
The nature of the support (e.g., financial or in-kind), and
A statement affirming that the supporter had no role in content development, instructor selection, or educational planning.
StorieTree Professional Education does not permit commercial entities to influence educational content or learning objectives.
Participant evaluations include items assessing perceived bias and objectivity of content. Any concerns raised are reviewed jointly by the Program Director and Program Administrator and addressed prior to future offerings.
All presenters attest, via formal presenter agreements, to providing content that is free from commercial bias, balanced in presentation of therapeutic options, and compliant with APA ethical standards. Failure to disclose relevant relationships or maintain transparency may result in corrective action, including removal from future programming.
Through these layered disclosure, review, and communication procedures, StorieTree Professional Education ensures that participants receive accurate, unbiased information and are fully informed of any potential conflicts of interest, consistent with professional ethics and CE accreditation standards.
